UCBA 15+High Hardhat Tour
The University Community Business Association’s Hardhat Tours is switching to an in-person event for the summer! University District businesses and association members are invited to a private tour of the new buildings and public spaces at Campus Partners’ 15+High development project.
Featuring restaurants, bars, retail and new gathering spaces, the project will transform The Ohio State Univeristy’s front door to the community. WOSU’s new headquarters will be an anchor to the mixed-use development that will also include a future hotel and parking structure.
Those joining the tour will get an insider’s view of the new buildings and insight on the design inspiration of the new public plaza. Limited space is available so please RSVP.

Yolanda is an EMDR-trained therapist, who specializes in helping individuals overcome the traumas they experience in life. Open Air Armchair Hardhat Tour
Virtual Tour: Open Air School Historic Renovation
The historic "Columbus Open Air School", built in 1928, is being renovated into a local community hub. Located in the Tuttle Park neighborhood at Neil and Hudson, this new project will feature restaurants, office space, and other small tenants such as a Butcher Shop Fitness Center. This project is partially funded through historic preservation tax credits, which help developers to preserve and breathe new life into historically significant buildings. Join us to hear the developer (Kelley Companies), learn about the project, and take a virtual tour through the buildings' spaces.

UCBA Spring Lunch & Learn: High Street '73
Photographer and Ohio State University professor Clay Lowe set out to document High Street in 1973 from the southern farms outside the city to the northern reaches of Worthington. The resulting photographic collection is a captivating snapshot of life on Columbus’ most iconic street. Lowe’s former student and current WOSU TV producer Mary Rathke helped catalog the photos and pair them with recent images. She along with Columbus historian Doreen Uhas-Sauer will present this photographic journey and provide insight on the changes seen in the University District and other neighborhoods on High Street.

UCBA is pleased to host Robert Ferrin - the new Director of Parking Services for the City of Columbus. Prior to arriving in Columbus, Mr. Ferrin managed the on-street parking programs for Aurora and Denver, Colorado.
The City of Columbus Department of Public Service will be implementing modern approaches to on-street parking. After finishing the Short North Parking Study, new programs will be launched for the Short North and other neighborhoods in the future. Learn what may come for the University District!

All About: OSU Extention - University District
Ohio State University's first urban extension, the University District office has been pioneering innovative programming for area residents to better equip them for success in life. Under the direction of Susan Colbert, OSU Extension has been able to offer classes on purchasing a home, computer skills, job training, parenting for mothers and fathers, nutrition, and much more. These skills are important to our area employers for fulfilling jobs with qualified individuals. OSU Extension recently moved into their new offices on East 8th Avenue with better facilities to provide greater outreach.

OSU Framework Plan Update w/Keith Myers & Amanda Hoffsis + North Residential Dorms Tour
The University Community Business Association and OSU's Neighborhood Services & Collaboration are teaming up for a unique program opportunity and inviting the university community!
The Ohio State University completed the One Ohio State Framework Plan in 2010 which envisioned new campus connections, open spaces, research and arts districts. An update to the Framework Plan is already being considered. Keith Myers, Associate Vice President of Physical Planning & Real Estate (PPARE) and Amanda Hoffsis, Senior Director at PPARE will discuss the impetus for the Framework Plan update and the new factors that will influence this Plan’s recommendations.
Following the Framework Plan presentation, OSU Office of Student Life will provide a tour of the North Residential District currently under construction at the corner of Lane Avenue and High Street. Space for the tour is limited, so please register in advance. Don't miss the opportunity to see an inside glimpse of this expansive construction project!
