New Year, New Semester, Same Precautions
After lying dormant since the Thanksgiving holiday, students have returned to the District for the Spring 2021 semester. While we are all grateful that 2020 is now behind us, this semester will still be a departure from the norm.
In order to ensure the safety of returning students and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, OSU has implemented various safety measures in its return to campus protocols.
The first two weeks of the semester (Jan. 11 - 22) will be virtual. This will allow time for students who may have been exposed to develop symptoms and be tested before returning.
All students have been requested to self-sequester themselves for ten days prior to their return in order to reduce the chances of them returning to campus with the virus.
All students are required to receive two COVID-19 tests as a part of the return to campus process. Following this return process, all students will be tested weekly throughout the semester.
On-campus students must receive a negative result from an at-home test mailed to them before they can return. They will be tested again upon their return to campus.
Off-Campus students must receive two negative test results before resuming on-campus activities.
Measures such as daily health checks, wearing a mask, social distancing and proper hygiene will remain in place throughout the semester.
