UDO Is Seeking More Artists!
The University District Organization is seeking artists for another public art project. Recent proposals were sought for the Outside the Box utility wrap project. Now, artists have an opportunity to create a mural on another unconventional object… dumpsters!
A ubiquitous fixture of University District alleys, the goal of “Trash to Treasure” is to create a small mural corridor with dumpsters. At the same time, the project will be ridding alleys of unsightly graffiti and helping to prevent repeat tagging.
This project will be community driven. Residents with the University Community Association and students volunteering with the OSU Pay It Forward program will be participating in alley litter pick-up and dumpster preparation. Artists will have opportunities to work with those that have helped organize this project.
Application deadline is 5:00 pm on Monday, August 5th.
For questions, please email info@universitydistrict.org. This project was inspired by community input from the University Arts & Character Plan. For more information, please visit: universitydistrict.org/arts
