High Street Streetscape Construction Images

New curbs, sidewalks, trees and planters are currently being installed on High Street between Gateway and 7th/King Avenue. After months of underground utility work, improvements are finally being made above ground. Check out photos photos of the work being done so far.

Also, don’t forget to support the businesses currently in the construction mix. Sidewalk access is still being maintained to front doors and you can usually find parking on many of the adjacent side streets.

Streetscape 1

Looking south at East 8th with new sidewalks. To the right will be two planted areas with trees and shrubs.

Looking north near E 8th towards Gateway. New sidewalks installed.

Looking south at Euclid Avenue. Pedestrian bump-outs will make pedestrian crossing shorter and calm traffic.

Looking south towards 7th/King Ave. New sidewalk and street tree grates. A special underground system was installed underneath the sidewalk to allow for tree root growth without damaging sidewalks. This should allow for trees to grow more quickly and fully.
