University District Arts & Character Plan Sets Framework

The University District Arts & Character Plan was driven with the mindset that public art should be created by the community. It reflects values that inspire art to happen organically as well has provide direction for organized arts initiatives.

Concept mural featuring Old North Columbus historic resident Conn Baker aka "The Great Diavolo" performing his famous circus act.

After months of public input, the plan was presented to the Columbus Art Commission for their support of plan concepts and to provide a preview on public projects that would require their approval. With an enthusiastic approval, the Commission voted to accept the plan which will allow the University District Organization to start planning for its implementation.
