Arts & Character Plan Seeks Artists & Writers

The University District Arts & Character Plan continues its public engagement with the installation of tactical/temporary art! We are seeking creative individuals and teams for five unique projects:

  1. Art from Nature
  2. Music Oriented T-Shirt
  3. The Neighborhood 100
  4. Short Literary Pieces
  5. Youth Inspired Art

Application deadline for the first round of project funding is 5:00pm on Friday, August 26th.

The date has also been set for a second public open house. Participants will be able to view the temporary/tactical art proposals and the community framework that inspired the work. The meeting will also give an opportunity for community members to create their own public art ideas through materials at the meeting or with the sketch artist present.

The University District Arts & Character Enhancement Plan will develop a strategy for the University District to showcase and celebrate its unique character and culture through public art, placemaking, and creative projects. We want to hear from you now and throughout our planning process!
