The Ohio State Fair
photo from the 1960's.
Since 1850 Ohioians have gathered together for the Ohio State Fair. What was once a 3 day event now runs for 12 days each August and is one of the largest State Fair's in the country. Its hard to sum up the fair with any brevity as the fair seems to have a little bit of everything. Exhibits, Livestock, Rides, Entertainment and of course...FOOD.
While the Ohio State Fair is the largest event held annually at the Ohio State Fairgrounds and Exposition Center, however the Quarter Horse Congress is easily the second largest event. The Congress is the largest single breed horse show in the world. Over 16,000 horses enter the event annually requiring use of all 360 acres of exposition center grounds.
Throughout the rest of the year, the fairgrounds are used for a variety of events from Antique Shows to Horse Shows.
