In the fall of 2006, the UDO announced a partnership with the Ohio Historical Society to create a repository for documents and artifacts which preserve the history of the neighborhoods of the University District.
The UDO Archives Project is tasked with acquiring memorabilia from the university neighborhoods and donating these document and artifacts to the Ohio Historical Society to be archived. The Project also is tasked with devising programs and exhibitions using the archived material to make the public aware of the interesting and colorful history of the university neighborhoods.
The UDO Archives Committee is gathering information of a historical nature on the university area (not the University itself) on the following topics:
